what happened so far in 2015

Its time to have short roundup of whats been happening this summer. The Baseball School Berlin has been focusing in general on making new clothes/caps and trying to promote Baseball in the public eye.

With DJ Carrasco a former MLB Player and his wife Autumn Lopez coming to Europe in order to help with the development of the players there was lots of work. Unfortunately the communication between MLB and DBV was a mess. Nevertheless given the opportunity to host both of them in Berlin-Brandenburg for a little more than a week was great. They shared their knowledge with no hesitation and even more helped the Baseball-/Softball community grow closer together.

Berlin born Max Kepler is currently playing Double A Baseball with Chattanooga Lookouts (Twins). The Lookouts started the season really successful and finished as first-half division winners. Since then the Lookouts have slowed down but not Max Kepler who kept on hitting the ball really well. He is now the Double A league leading batter with a .341 batting average which has his fans hoping for a call up to the bigs in September.

The MLB Roadshow will be coming to Berlin to the biggest family sports-event and set up an interactive playground. Its a great set up where spectators will get a chance to practice some Baseball and receive some gifts from the MLB Roadshow sponsors. The date for the first event in Berlin is the 30th August (@Olympiapark) and after a few other stops the MLB Roadshow will return to Berlin on the 7th September (@Alexanderplatz).

Again this summer like last summer Sports Island and Benji from Baseball School Berlin have been working at the Tempelhofer Freiheit giving Baseball lessons to the youth. 6 dates from July through August with at least 30 Kids participating at each date have been full of playing ball, hitting, fielding, running, and throwing. Sports-Island camps are bilingual and have a wide variety of sports activities.DSC_0206
